EAX provides electronic spot-trading infrastructure for staple agricultural commodities including maize, beans, and coffee, with a warehouse receipt system to facilitate agricultural finance. Backed by the Rwanda Development Board and supported by international development partners, EAX aims to reduce information asymmetry and post-harvest losses across the East African Community (EAC) region.

EGYCOMEX provides trading infrastructure for agricultural commodities (wheat, cotton, rice), energy products, and precious metals within Egypt's market. Egypt is one of Africa's largest wheat importers and a significant agricultural producer, and EGYCOMEX serves as a domestic price-discovery mechanism to reduce dependence on international benchmark volatility.
The Zimbabwe Mercantile Exchange (ZMX) is a Harare-based commodity exchange providing trading services for agricultural commodities critical to Zimbabwe's economy, including maize, tobacco, and other staple and export crops. ZMX was developed to help rebuild market infrastructure for Zimbabwe's agricultural sector following the country's economic recovery. The exchange facilitates price discovery, warehouse receipt systems, and commodity-backed financing for Zimbabwean agricultural producers and traders.
The Auction Holding Commodity Exchange (AHCX) is one of Malawi's primary commodity trading facilities, operating physical auction floors for agricultural products. AHCX primarily handles tobacco, Malawi's main export commodity, along with other agricultural products. The exchange provides a venue for licensed buyers and sellers to negotiate and transact commodity lots in an open auction environment. Headquartered in the Ebene Cyber City financial district, Bourse Africa aimed to leverage Mauritius's position as an African financial hub to provide access to commodity and forex derivatives for African and international participants.
