Steps

  1. 1Buy directly from the manufacturer (Ledger or Trezor) — never buy secondhand or from Amazon resellers.
  2. 2Unbox and verify the device is factory sealed with no signs of tampering.
  3. 3Install the companion app (Ledger Live or Trezor Suite) on your computer.
  4. 4Set a strong PIN (6-8 digits) on the device itself.
  5. 5Write down your 24-word recovery phrase on the included paper card — NEVER digitally.
  6. 6Verify the recovery phrase by confirming selected words when prompted.
