The E-mini Dow (YM) tracks the Dow Jones Industrial Average and is popular among traders who prefer the price-weighted nature of the DJIA. Each point move is worth $5, making it straightforward for position sizing. The Dow's 30 blue-chip constituents make YM less volatile than NQ but still highly liquid.
FTSE 100 futures on ICE provide exposure to the UK's leading blue-chip index. Widely used by UK pension funds and asset managers for hedging. Retail traders use CFDs modelled on these futures. The FTSE tends to be influenced by commodity prices (mining/oil constituents) and GBP movements.
DAX futures (FDAX) on Eurex are Europe's most liquid equity index futures, tracking Germany's DAX 40. With a notional value often exceeding €450,000, FDAX attracts institutional players. The Mini-DAX (FDXM) at €5/point makes it accessible for smaller traders. DAX futures are a key vehicle for trading European macro sentiment.
The Micro E-mini S&P 500 (MES) offers the same market exposure as ES but at one-tenth the contract size. Launched in 2019, it quickly became one of the highest-volume futures products globally. Ideal for retail traders building positions, fine-tuning risk, or practicing with real market conditions at a fraction of the capital requirement.
